Training Program for Bamboo Craft Upskilling
Tenser and RIGHTS jointly conducted a Bamboo Crafts training program for women in the tribal colonies of Chinnaparakudy and Thattekannankudy

Tenser, jointly with RIGHTS (A society for Human Rights registered under SOCIETIES REGISTRATION ACT, 1860 in Trivandrum, Kerala, India.), conducted a month-long training program for upskilling Bamboo Craft: Bamboo/ Reed Bamboo based product development. Bamboo craft serves as a livelihood program for Dalit women, assisting them with sustainable earnings for a living and helping them achieve economic independence.
The initiative of RIGHTS to restore livelihood for women in the marginalised communities in Kerala through Fibrent – The Craft Women Producer Company Limited, began in the aftermath of the flood in 2018. As part of this, they provided multi-level training to Adivasi-Dalit women on all aspects of making the most modern bamboo products under the Fibrent brand.
Trenser joined RIGHTS to support Fibrent in providing training to the women in two tribal hamlets in Adimali in Idukki district, Thattekannankudy, Chinnapparakudy, and Thottapuzha in Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district. We thank RIGHTS for giving us this opportunity to support this humble effort to uplift the marginalized sections of society and enable them to become economically independent.
